Parklane Plowden has one of largest Clinical Negligence team of barristers in the North East of the UK. Our barristers have a long established reputation as being able to offer strength and in-depth expertise across a full range of practice areas to both Claimants and Defendants.

Parklane Plowden has an enviable reputation in all aspects of Clinical Negligence & healthcare law. We undertake a wide range of clinical negligence, regulatory and disciplinary work offering considerable experience and a proven track record in advocacy, mediation and advisory work.

We offer specialist advice and representation on behalf of both claimants and defendants at all stages of the litigation process including joint settlement meetings and mediation.We work on behalf of a very wide range of clients including private individuals, NHS Trusts, medical defence organisations and private medical and related institutions. We provide detailed advice in relation to the merits of claims and the evidence required whether the issue is breach of duty, causation, the assessment of the value of the claim or a combination of some or all of these. Where appropriate, we will accept instructions under individual conditional fee agreements.

Individual barristers are active in the Personal Injury Bar Association [PIBA], the Professional Negligence Bar Association [PNBA], Action against Medical Accidents [AvMA] and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers [APIL].

Members also provide representation at coroners' inquests in which death has followed medical treatment.

Members are prepared to consider cases on a conditional fee basis.
