Mark Thomas appointed District Judge

We are proud to announce that the Queen has appointed Parklane Plowden barrister, Mark Thomas to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Durham Justice Centre with effect from 20 March 2018.

In 2015 Mark was appointed as a Deputy District Judge. Prior to being called to the Bar in 2003, he also practised as a solicitor. Throughout his career Mark has praised for his expertise in personal injury law cases. The most recent accolade for him in Chambers & Partners 2018 reads: “He has a fantastic attention to detail and his knowledge of law and procedure is second to none. He adopts a collaborative, confidence-inspiring approach with clients” and is "Thorough and personable."
