Park Lane Plowden has the largest Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team of any other chambers in the North of the UK. Our barristers have a long established reputation as being able to offer strength and in-depth expertise across a full range of practice areas.

The team comprises 49 specialist barristers ranging from silks to junior counsel. As a result, appropriately qualified and experienced barristers are available to handle all levels of work. Members of the team regularly appear in the House of Lords and Court of Appeals.

The team are members of numerous associations such as PIBA, BNBA, AvMA and APIL.

All members of the group act for both claimants and defendants in relatively equal proportions. In addition to acting for most leading insurers, the MOD, local authorities, the NHSLA and trade unions, members act for individual claimants in all types of cases, however funded.

Several members are on the Treasury Solicitor’s panel.

We have a dedicated team of barristers who regularly advise and appear in health and safety prosecutions dealing with inquests, criminal proceedings and associated litigation. A number of the team are members of the HSLA.

The team has extensive experience in the following areas:-

• Catastrophic injuries
• Fatal accidents
• Clinical negligence
• Industrial disease litigation
• HSE prosecutions
• Product liability and drug related litigation
• Group litigation
• Inquests
• Sport injury
• Motor Insurance Fraud
• Credit Hire Claims

Fees can be discussed prior to the commencement of work. Value for money is assured as fees for each case can be assessed individually and are based upon the complexity and value of the case, seniority of counsel and time spent in preparation. All barristers will consider undertaking work on a CFA basis. A robust management system ensures that agreed turnaround times are fulfilled.
