Direct Access Family Law

Direct Access Family Law

Parklane Plowden Chambers has the largest, specialist team of Family Law barristers in the north east of England, based in Leeds and Newcastle upon Tyne.

Our chambers offers a broad range of talent and experience to cater for each and every type of family law case. Barristers are available to assist at all stages from initial written advice to representation in any tier of court.

Instructing a family law barrister directly can prove excellent value for money as you remove the need for a solicitor, saving on solicitor's fees. Our clerks will advise whether Public Access is the best option for you, and if not, what your best alternatives are for your budget.

What can we do for you?

We offer specialist advice and advocacy in all aspects of family law including public and private child law, and matrimonial law & finance. A selection of our barristers are also qualified mediators, and we have the facilities to offer mediation on-site.

In matrimonial finance, we regularly represent clients in divorce & ancillary relief, cohabitation disputes, and Inheritance Act applications.

We also regularly receive instructions in Public Law Child Care, Private Law Child Care; including applications to remove from the jurisdiction and child abduction cases, Applications under the inherent jurisdiction in relation to minors and persons under a disability, and domestic violence and harassment.

We regularly represent Local Authorities, parents, children’s guardians, CAFCASS Legal, and the Official Solicitor as well as both publicly funded and private clients in matrimonial disputes.
