Megan commenced civil pupillage at Parklane Plowden in October 2018, focusing on clinical negligence, personal injury and employment law. She is now well into her second six and is regularly instructed in small claims, MOJ stage 3 hearings, employment matters, drafting pleadings, advising on quantum and, she undertakes more complex work under her pupil supervisors. Megan is currently being supervised by Nicola Twine and Lucy Bairstow and in first six, was supervised by Andrew Sugarman and Hylton Armstrong.
Before starting pupillage, Megan worked as a paralegal at Stewarts in Leeds; a top ranked law firm in the The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. Megan worked on catastrophic injury claims focusing on brain and spinal cord injury cases.
Megan graduated from Durham University with a law degree and went on to complete the Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Law in Leeds. She was the only student in her year to be graded as “Outstanding” and achieved the highest grade nationally at the University of Law. Alongside her studies, Megan frequently competed in advocacy competitions including reaching the national final of the CEDR Negotiation Competition, the quarter final of the Gray’s Inn Moot and winning the Parklane Plowden Moot in 2017.
