Patrick commenced his specialist family and Court of Protection pupillage in September 2020 under the supervision of John Jackson and Natalia Levine.
Patrick graduated from Newcastle University in 2017 with first class honours, spending a year studying at the University of Copenhagen as part of his degree. In 2018 Patrick completed to Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Law in Leeds, achieving a very competent overall. During his time at Newcastle University, Patrick helped to establish the first Bar Society within the Law School and remains an active part of the society to date, assisting with peer mentoring, panel events and judging competitions.
Whilst studying for both his degree and BPTC, Patrick competed and won a number of mooting competitions, appearing as a finalist in the annual Inner Temple Magna Moot.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Patrick worked as a paralegal in a high street family law practice and gained insight and experience in a broad range of private law family law matters with a particular focus on high value matrimonial finance, private law children matters with a focus on those with an international element and TOLATA.
Patrick has an interest in the full range of family law matters.

During his pupillage Patrick will be observing and working under the supervision of his supervisors, John Jackson and Natalia Levine, on a broad range of public and private law children work, observing hearings in the Magistrates', County and High Courts.

During his pupillage, Patrick will also be observing a range of family finance matters. He will be observing members of Chambers in matrimonial finance disputes, as well as cohabitation disputes arising under the Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA) and matters arising under Schedule 1 of the Children Act.
Patrick will be observing the full range of financial remedy hearings, including First Directions Appointments, Financial Dispute Resolution hearings and Final Hearings.
