About

Andrew Mohamdee specialises in family finance and private children work. He joined Parklane Plowden Chambers as a family pupil in October 2021 under the supervision of Farzana Tai and Lucy Sowden.

After obtaining a First Class LLB from Durham University, Andrew went on to receive the highest grade for his MJur thesis which critically analysed the discretionary legal framework for financial remedies. During this year, he also worked as a part-time family law tutor for Durham Law School.

Andrew had the privilege of marshalling Sir Andrew McFarlane in the Court of Appeal in 2017 and Mrs Justice Parker in the Family Division of the High Court in 2018. He has also competed in and won many mock trials and moots, including the Dunelm Mock Trial Final (judged by Lady Hale), the 1 Hare Court Moot (an FDR judged by Sir Andrew McFarlane, Mrs Justice Parker, and Ann Hussey QC), and the Palatinate Shield Mooting Competition.

Before joining PLP, Andrew worked as a divorce and family finance paralegal. During this time, he worked on a wide range of cases covering all stages of the divorce and financial remedies process, as well as private child arrangements and public child work.

Following a settlement reached at FDR, his instructing solicitor had this to say: “My client was very impressed with Andrew, and she felt he did a very good job / dealt with a difficult opponent solicitor well. My paralegal who was also present at court said Andrew was extremely good with our client (who is highly anxious) and reassured her well. She reports him being confident in his technical knowledge of the law in the area and in telling the other side that their approach was wrong. All in all, we are impressed.”

Areas of Expertise
