Holly Challenger

Holly specialises in chancery and commercial litigation. She joined Chambers as a tenant in October 2021 following the successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Sarah Harrison.

Holly has experience in a wide variety of chancery matters. She has a particular interest in trusts and probate work. During her pupillage, she undertook a three-day probate trial in the High Court concerning the validity of a Will. She has also been instructed regularly in claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and has experience acting in claims for the removal or substitution of personal representatives under section 50 of the Administration of Justice Act 1985.

Holly also has a broad advisory practice. She is regularly instructed in a range of contentious and non-contentious private client matters. She has experience advising in relation to the validity of Wills and trusts, as well as the validity of specific bequests within a Will (including gifts to charity).

She also has experience in property work, such as applications under section 14 of the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. Holly also regularly appears in the County Court for possession hearings. She also has experience representing clients at trial in property matters, having successfully represented a client at a three-day trial in relation to a boundary dispute during the course of her pupillage.

In terms of commercial work, Holly has experience dealing with commercial and company disputes. She is regularly instructed in cases involving breach of contract and/or misrepresentation and regularly represents petitioners seeking winding up orders in respect of companies.

Outside of work, Holly is a keen equestrian and competed in show jumping and dressage for a number of years. She also enjoys watching Formula 1 and likes to travel when time allows, having visited South Africa, Cuba, Fiji and New Zealand over the past few year
