Emma began her career with Parklane Plowden in 2015 as an apprentice administrative assistant and has since progressed through every stage of the clerking team. Her experience across multiple departments gives her a comprehensive understanding of chambers’ operations and client expectations. Rising quickly through the ranks, in 2024 Emma was promoted to Practice Director for the Employment, Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, and Inquests teams.

In her current role as Practice Director, Emma is responsible for (but certainly not limited too):

• Diary management across four major practice areas
• Fee negotiation and cost effective case planning
• Business development and strategic growth of Counsel
• Maintaining strong relationships with solicitors, insurers, and national clients

Emma is known for her calm, solutions focused approach, particularly in high‑pressure situations. Feedback from Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners repeatedly highlights her responsiveness, professionalism, and ability to match clients with the right Counsel.

Outside chambers, Emma enjoys baking and spending time with her Golden Retriever, Herbie, who keeps her very busy!
