About

Imogen has a broad chancery and commercial practice with a particular focus on contentious trusts, probate and property work.

Imogen regularly advises on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, Will construction and validity issues, as well as the removal of executors and trustees. She also advises and represents clients in property matters, including boundary disputes and possession claims.

Imogen completed her pupillage at Chambers under the supervision of Sarah Harrison. During pupillage, she observed trials in the Business and Property Courts and attended several high value mediations.

Imogen studied Law with Politics at the University of Manchester and graduated with upper second class honours. She was later awarded two BPTC scholarships by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.

Areas of Expertise

In her role as a paralegal, Imogen assisted companies to bring claims for unpaid invoices. She also advised on the enforcement of costs orders and other practical aspects of debt recovery including tracing and the instruction of High Court Enforcement.

Imogen has extensive experience in both commercial and residential property matters.

At DAC Beachcroft, she assisted with large property transactions involving international clients and developers. As a real estate paralegal, she gained experience of traditional property work including the preparation of reports on title and draft lease documentation.

At DTM legal, Imogen assisted with all types of property litigation work including forfeiture, dilapidations, rent arrears, service charges, possession claims and disputes involving easements.

Imogen has experience of preparing pleadings at each stage of litigation including particulars of claim, defences, and ancillary applications such as relief from sanctions.

Housing

Imogen has acted in a number of possession matters and advised landlords on the recovery of residential properties from the service of notice stage through to final hearing. She then represented landlords at the possession hearing and prepared draft orders for the court.

Imogen also has experience within the social housing sector and was employed as a housing assistant and homelessness officer at the City of Lincoln Council. This experience means that she has a good understanding of the legal duties owed by local authorities to those at risk of homelessness. She also has experience of working with applicants with different vulnerabilities including mental illness, domestic violence and refugee status.
