About

Isabella Brunton commenced her specialist civil law pupillage in April 2024 under the supervision of Claire Millns.

She achieved first-class honours at the University of York in Law and was awarded the Citizenship Award for her role as Mistress of the Moots of the Mooting and Bar Society. Whilst at University Isabella co-launched the ‘first-gen barristers’ programme for students from underrepresented backgrounds, allowing them to access one-to-one careers advice, and interviewed Lady Hale on the topic of judicial diversity.

Isabella was awarded the HHJ Paul Clark Scholarship and Blackstone Entrance Exhibition Award by Middle Temple, and the Excellence and Career Commitment Scholarships by BPP. She went on to achieve a Distinction in her BTC LLM.

Prior to beginning pupillage, Isabella taught as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of York.
