About

Lucy Evanson commenced her specialist civil law pupillage under the supervision of Elizabeth Hodgson in October 2023.

During her legal studies, Lucy won several regional and national mooting competitions and was selected to represent BPP in the Nuremberg Court Moot competition.

She achieved first-class honours at Newcastle University and received numerous awards, including the Medico-Legal Society prize for the highest mark in Medicine and the Law.

Lucy was awarded the Exhibition Scholarship by Inner Temple, and the Excellence, Advocacy, and Career Commitment scholarships by BPP.

Lucy went on to achieve a Distinction in her BTC LLM. Prior to beginning pupillage, Lucy taught law at Oxford University with Oxford Summer Courses.

Lucy has an active personal injury paperwork practice, advising on liability, quantum, and drafting statements of case. She most recently drafted a schedule of loss for a claim valued at over £150,000.

Lucy is willing to accept instructions on a CFA.

Lucy acts on behalf of Claimants and Respondents in a range of employment matters. She has appeared in preliminary hearings and final hearings, and has undertaken advisory work.
Recent successes include:

  • Successful representation in a final hearing in a claim for unfair dismissal and unlawful deduction of wages, obtaining Judgment in excess of £53,000 – Mr Jeremy Morgan v AB Glass Doors & Windows Limited (In Liquidation)

Lucy accepts instructions at all stages of Court of Protection health and welfare, and property and financial affairs proceedings. Lucy has been instructed by local authorities to act in contested final hearings and roundtable meetings and is experienced in writing position statements and draft orders.

Lucy has particular experience in applications made under section 21A Mental Capacity Act, concerning capacity and best interests.
