John has been working as a lawyer since 1983 initially as a solicitor and since 2006 as a barrister specialising in Family Law and regulatory matters involving Ofsted. As a solicitor he was a partner at Messrs Jones Myers and Levi and Co and an Associate at Messrs Walker Morris. He was a member of the Law Society Children Panel from 1995-2006, a member of the Ofsted legal panel 2003-2006 and a member of his team's Child Abduction Panel 1999-2006.

John has been married for 27 years with three children.

John has considerable experience of conducted training seminars. This includes the provision of training for Local Authorities on law and procedure , court skills training  Paediatric Nursing Staff at local hospitals, Osfted Early Years Inspectors on legal issues and Court Skills, and Roman Catholic Priests on Data Protection Matters.
