Former member of chambers, Philip Kramer, appointed Specialist Civil Circuit Judge

The Queen has appointed District Judge Philip Anthony Kramer to be a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lidington MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable Sir Ian Burnett.
Philip Kramer was a member of Parklane Plowden Chambers until he became a full time District Judge in 2013.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Newcastle upon Tyne Combined Court Centre with effect from Tuesday 28 November 2017.
Philip Anthony Kramer, aged 61, will be known as His Honour Judge Kramer. He was called to Bar in 1982 (I). He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2000, as a Recorder in 2008 and as a District Judge in 2013.
