  • 13:30 - 14:00: Sarah Harrison - “Quirks of Equity”
    Sarah Harrison will discuss some of the quirks of the law of equity which impact on contentious and non contentious practice including the rule against self dealing, the rule against double portions and the rule in Tollet v Tollet
  • 14:00 - 14:30: Anna Metcalfe - “Trusts in Inheritance Act Proceedings”
    Anna Metcalfe will consider whether life interest trusts and discretionary trusts can be reasonable provision, life interests vs capital interests in spousal and co-habitee cases, will trustees as defendants and the role of trusts in compromising IHA claims.
  • 14:30 - 15:00: Stuart Roberts - “Removing Trustees”
    Stuart Roberts will explore seeking and resisting the removal of trustees: the Court’s approach, tactics, and risks and opportunities.

  • 15:30- 16:00: Cait Sweeney - “Adverse Possession and Trust Property”
  • 16:00- 16:30: Nicola Phillipson - “Disclosure in the BPC under Practice Direction 57AD"
