Chambers appointed to West Yorkshire Council panel

Following one of the largest procurement exercises for a barristers framework to date, Parklane Plowden has been appointed to the panel of Sets permitted to receive work from five local authorities in West Yorkshire.

Kirklees, Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale and Wakefield Councils launched a competitive tendering process earlier in the year to select a panel of Chambers to receive work from the local authorities. This exercise is expected to deliver real savings to the authorities with the arrangement being estimated to be worth between £5m and £10m. Parklane Plowden formed a consortium with Sovereign Chambers and Zenith Chambers to submit the successful joint tender. It is believed that this is the first occasion in which Chambers have joined forces for a tender process of this nature.

Neil Douglas, CEO at Parklane Plowden Chambers says, "We are thrilled that our innovative and collaborative approach to securing work has succeeded in this way. We look forward to being able to continue to service our clients whilst developing a strong working relationship with both Sovereign and Zenith Chambers to deliver an optimum service to all five local authorities."
