Her practice covers the full spectrum of personal injury work, including road traffic accidents, public liability, employers’ liability, and occupiers’ liability claims, as well as credit hire and fraud. Lucy has a particular interest in Highways Act claims, where she is developing a growing practice.
Alongside her advocacy, she maintains a strong paperwork practice, advising on liability, quantum, and prospects of success, in addition to drafting statements of case with clarity and precision. She is willing to accept instructions on a CFA basis.

- Successfully defended against a Highways Act claim involving a vehicle being damaged by a pothole.
- Represented a Claimant in an Occupiers’ Liability claim involving a slip in a pub, obtaining a judgment of £25,000 in damages.
- Represented a pedestrian Claimant who was struck by a vehicle and thrown onto the windscreen, securing a judgment of £19,000 in damages.
- Represented an employee whose employer failed to provide suitable PPE, namely cut resistant gloves, resulting in a serious laceration and nerve damage, ultimately obtaining a judgment of over £22,000 in damages.
- Represented a Claimant in a primary victim claim involving an explosion at work.
- Successfully defended against an allegation that a refuse truck had collided with a parked vehicle on a caravan site.
- Successfully defended an RTA claim in demonstrating the Defendant was the incorrect party.
- Advised on a matter involving an employee sustaining a chemical burn on the Defendant’s premises.
- Advised on a matter involving a teacher sustaining an injury at work caused by a student.
- Advised on a matter involving an employee sustaining a penetrating eye injury from metal on a construction site.
- Advised on a matter involving a cyclist sustaining injury from camouflaged chicane barriers.
- Regularly advises on matters involving slip injuries within the workplace.
- Drafted a schedule of loss in excess of £1.1 million.

- Successfully represented the Claimant in a claim for unfair dismissal and unlawful deduction of wages, obtaining Judgment in excess of £53,000 – Mr Jeremy Morgan v AB Glass Doors & Windows Limited (In Liquidation)
- Successfully defended against a claim for which the Tribunal had no jurisdiction and subsequent application to amend – Ms Y Xu v The Square Ltd
- Represented a Respondent in a 2-day Preliminary Hearing dealing with an application to postpone, an application to strike out, and an application to consolidate several ET1s.
- Successfully concluded a 2-day hearing on a claim for constructive unfair dismissal resulting in the Claimant’s withdrawal of the claim after cross-examination.
- Successfully represented the Respondent in a 5-day hearing for claims of breach of contract, direct pregnancy/maternity discrimination, constructive unfair dismissal, victimisation, and detriment following refusal of a flexible working request – M Slyk v Nursery @ Aspire
- Successfully represented the Respondent in a complex 5-day claim of unfair dismissal concerning serious allegations of misconduct by a healthcare professional.
- Successfully represented the Respondent in a 3-day hearing involving claims of harassment on the grounds of disability and harassment on the grounds of sexual orientation.
- Acted for the Claimant in proceedings alleging wrongful dismissal, unfair dismissal, automatic unfair dismissal, and associated claims, against 5 Respondents, which concluded by settlement.
- Successfully defended the Respondent in a complex 4-day hearing involving claims of unfair dismissal, discrimination arising from disability, and failure to make reasonable adjustments, arising from the dismissal of a teaching assistant for serious safeguarding concerns.
- Successfully represented the Respondent in a 3-day hearing for indirect sex discrimination relating to pre-employment training requirements.
- Successfully represented the Claimant in a 2-day hearing for unfair dismissal within a micro-business.
Lucy accepts instructions at all stages of Court of Protection health and welfare, and property and financial affairs proceedings. Lucy has been instructed by local authorities to act in contested final hearings and roundtable meetings and is experienced in writing position statements and draft orders.
Lucy has particular experience in applications made under section 21A Mental Capacity Act, concerning capacity and best interests.

- Acted for the Official Public Guardian in an application to revoke a deputyship order due to a mismanagement of funds
- Represented the Local Authority in seeking a declaration of a lack of capacity
- Acted for the Local Authority in an application by P to change living placements
Lucy represents parties at Inquest. Some of her notable cases include:
- Representing the family in a matter of a diabetic 71-year-old who tragically died due to an untreated acute kidney injury which led to urosepsis. The Coroner made a finding of neglect and issued a Prevention of Future Deaths report.
- Representing the local authority in a matter involving a death in a care home due to a failure to follow the individual’s care plan. The Coroner made a finding of neglect and issued a Prevention of Future Deaths report.
