Colin maintains a busy court and paper practice, acting for claimant and defendants in fast and multi track personal injury matters. As a former Solicitor himself, Colin is well-versed in the needs of instructing solicitors. He is approachable, while providing a high level of professionalism and taking a pragmatic approach to litigation.
Colin is regularly instructed for fast and multi track trial work, but also in applications relation to procedural matters. He also regularly appears in costs-related matters such as CCMCs and detailed assessments.
In addition, Colin is regularly instructed by claimants and defendants in fast and multi track credit hire matters.
When appropriate, Colin is happy to accept instructions on a direct access basis.
Colin regularly delivers training sessions, both at Chambers’ events and on an in-house basis for instructing solicitors. He has been a trainer for the Motor Accident Solicitors’ Society for many years.
Colin sits as a Deputy District Judge on the North Eastern Circuit.
Away from work, Colin enjoy watching and participating in various sports. He has completed the London Marathon on nine occasions. He enjoys cycling, walking and generally socialising and spending time with friends and family.
Colin is currently Chair of the Board of Trustees of a children’s theatre company based in Leeds.

Colin is regularly instructed in fast and multi track personal injury claims by both claimants and defendants. He has particular experience in injury claims arising from road traffic accidents, accidents at work and public liability accidents.
He is often instructed in cases involving pedestrians and cyclists.
In addition to maintaining a busy court practice, Colin is regularly instructed to draft pleadings and schedules of loss, in addition to advising of matters of liability, causation, quantum and tactics.
Colin is happy to accept instructions on a Conditional Fee basis where appropriate.
Colin has experience of representing claimants in fatal accident claims, including drafting pleadings and schedules of loss.
Colin is regularly instructed in relation to CCMCs and detailed assessment hearings, in addition to appearing in hearings relating to costs arguments more generally.
Colin has, in the past, been instructed in relation to sporting injury claims.
Colin acts for claimants and defendants in disease cases, particularly those involving noise induced hearing loss.
Colin is often instructed in claims where dishonesty is alleged, particularly in relation to fraudulent personal injury claims arising from road traffic accidents.
He also has recent experience of claims in the tort of deceit, arising from allegations of dishonesty in relation to personal injury matters.
