Military Claims

Parklane Plowden Chambers has several barristers who are experienced in military compensation claims. Barristers represent serving and former members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces and Reserves, as well as civilians employed by the Ministry of Defence.

Barristers have experience of advising and representing those claiming under The Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (military personnel injured on or after 6 April 2005) and civil personal injury law. They provide sensitive and knowledgeable advice on military claims involving a broad range of injuries.

When acting for members of the Armed Forces who have been injured in an accident, whilst these claims can often be against a civilian, it is still very useful to have a barrister who has an understanding of military matters, particularly if the case involves discharges; downgrading or loss of promotion in the services.

Two of the team are retired military officers giving them a unique insight when advising on military accident claims, and other claims involving military personnel. Barrister Jim Hester was a Major in the Royal Marines Commandos; and Steven Friday served as a fast-jet pilot in the Royal Air Force.
