Legal 500 2009 – recommendations

Legal 500 2009 again recognises the strength Parklane Plowden Chambers offers. With 14 members recommended as leaders in their field for the 2009 Edition. It also recognises us as one the leading civil and family sets on the North Eastern Circuit placing us in tier one of its banding.

Many members are recognised individually within our core areas of work with the following accolades:

  • Nicola Twine "handles discrimination law cases as well as mainstream matters"

Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence

Stuart Brown QC is "excellent in his command of the case and in his advocacy". David Wilby QC "appeared in leading periodical payments case, cottingham", whilst Howard Elgot appeared in the Court of Appeal in Lough v Intruder Detection on occupier's liability." Jeremy Freedman's "level-headed negotiating skills give him an edge". Jonathan Godfrey is "quick and good" on administrative matters. Elizabeth Hodgson and Andrew Axon are experts in occupational disease, as is Michael Ditchfield. Andrew Sugarman "is a recommended tough advocate".


Guy Swiffen is stong in children's cases as is Lynn Macfadyen, an experienced former solicitor, instructed by Kirklees Council in a recent high profile case.
