About

Georgia has a growing practice in personal injury, clinical negligence, inquests and industrial disease.

Georgia has extensive experience of drafting pleadings and advising in respect of both liability and quantum. She prides herself on providing clear advice with empathy.

Georgia has been instructed as Junior Counsel in the High Court:

  • Bevan v Ministry of Defence [2025] EWHC 1145 (KB): Georgia was instructed alongside Jim Hester for the Defendant in a claim for noise-related injury, valued by the Claimant at over £530,000. The Court concluded that the Claimant’s tinnitus and asserted psychological injury were not attributable to the conceded breach of duty.

  • HQA v Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust [2025] EWHC 2121 (KB): Georgia was instructed alongside Howard Elgot and Megan Crowther for the Claimant in this clinical negligence trial to determine breach of duty and causation. The Claimant succeeded on issues of: (1) informed consent; (2) breach of duty by the surgeon in the planning of the operation; and (3) establishing that 13 minutes of cerebral hypoxia would have been avoided had the operation been planned appropriately. The matter will proceed to assessment of damages. The claim is estimated to have a value of over £5,000,000.

Georgia has been instructed on a 3-day jury inquest for the family in a case involving the failure to diagnose acute bacterial meningitis on an intensive care unit.

Before joining chambers, she worked for two years as a paralegal to an experienced barrister at Temple Garden Chambers specialising in high value personal injury and clinical negligence claims. She drafted pleadings, considered case strategy and assisted with preparation for court hearings and JSMs.

Areas of Expertise

Georgia has experience drafting pleadings and written advice in clinical negligence matters. She has also conducted conferences with clients and experts.

Her experience at trial in the High Court in HQA v Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (see above) and during pupillage under the supervision of Abigail Telford have provided a strong foundation for her clinical negligence practice.

Georgia has a growing inquests practice, including acting for the family in a 3-day jury inquest. She takes instructions for pre-inquest review hearings and inquests.

Georgia gained extensive experience and knowledge of industrial disease work while under the supervision of Jim Hester during pupillage. Since becoming a tenant, she has been instructed on behalf of both claimants and defendants in her own industrial disease cases. This is an area of practice she is enthusiastic to develop further.

Georgia is regularly instructed on behalf of claimants and defendants in all aspects of personal injury litigation. Her experience includes:
