Martin is Head of Service at PLP, with responsibility for the organisation’s finance, people, operations, technology, risk and governance functions. Working closely with the Boards and senior leadership team, he helps translate PLP’s ambitions into clear priorities, sustainable plans and practical improvements to the way Chambers operates.

 A Chartered Accountant by background, Martin brings a strong commercial and analytical perspective to decision-making. He leads financial planning, forecasting and performance reporting, and advises the Boards on investment, risk and organisational resilience. He is particularly skilled at presenting complex financial and operational information clearly, enabling informed and balanced decisions.

Since joining PLP, Martin has progressed through a series of finance and leadership roles, giving him a detailed understanding of Chambers and the wider legal services environment. He has helped strengthen financial controls and governance, modernise core processes, develop clearer measures of performance and support significant organisational change.

 Martin’s current focus is on PLP’s long-term strategy and sustainable growth, alongside strengthening leadership and organisational capability. He is also exploring how technology, data and artificial intelligence can improve decision-making and service delivery, with a practical and collaborative approach that turns strategic priorities into action.
