Parklane Plowden celebrates a record year in Chambers & Partners UK Bar 2027
15 October 2026

Parklane Plowden has had its strongest results to date in the Chambers & Partners UK Bar Guide 2027. Our barristers now hold 81 individual rankings across 56 members, up from 70 last year. Every member ranked in 2026 has kept or improved their position.

Leading sets on the North Eastern Circuit.

Chambers is again ranked Band 1 in five practice areas on the North Eastern Circuit:

  • Chancery
  • Clinical Negligence
  • Employment
  • Family: Children
  • Personal Injury

Family: Matrimonial Finance is ranked as a team for the first time, entering at Band 2. Inquests & Public Inquiries stays at Band 2 in The Regions.

Star Individuals and promotions

Andrew Axon is again a Star Individual in both Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury, and Andrew Sugarman keeps his Star Individual ranking in Employment.

Three barristers have been promoted to Band 1:

  • Hylton Armstrong, Clinical Negligence
  • Claire Millns, Employment
  • Iain Hutchinson, Family: Children

There are also promotions for Tim Wilkinson, now Band 2 and for May Martin, now band 3 from Up and Coming, both in Employment. Megan Crowther also moved from Up and Coming to Band 3 in Personal Injury.

New areas and new names

The Education rankings for The Regions now include three Band 1 barristers from chambers: Andrew Sugarman, Hannah Lynch and Sarah Brewis.

Several members have been recognised in additional practice areas:

  • Howard Elgot, Professional Negligence, band 2
  • Anna Datta and Simon Wilkinson, Court of Protection: Health & Welfare, both band 4
  • Roger Quickfall, Employment, band 3
  • Leila Benyounes, Personal Injury, band 3
  • Charlotte Wilce, Family Children, band 3

We are especially pleased to see the next generation recognised. Giorgia Sessi is ranked in both Family: Children and Matrimonial Finance. Imogen Gray and Andrew Rauer are both recognised as Up and Coming in Chancery.

These rankings are based on what clients and instructing solicitors tell the Chambers researchers. We are grateful to everyone who took the time to act as a referee, and to all our clients for their continued trust.

Our thanks also go to our clerking and staff teams, whose work sits behind every one of these results.

Congratulations to all our ranked members.
