Recognition for Outstanding Work on the Nottingham Enquiry
Parklane Plowden Chambers is delighted to celebrate the achievements of our pupil barrister, Amelia Fragola-Hunt, who was presented with a red bag yesterday in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Nottingham Inquiry.
Amelia received the honour from Sophie Cartwright KC, having worked closely alongside Sophie, Leila Benyounes and Georgia Banks in representing the surviving victims of the tragic events that took place in Nottingham on 13 June 2023. Throughout the Inquiry, Amelia demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism and commitment, making a significant contribution to the team’s work on this important and sensitive matter.
The presentation was made by Civil clerk Emma Addyman, marking a proud moment in Amelia’s career and recognising the high regard in which her efforts have been held by colleagues and clients alike.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to recognise the contributions of other members of Chambers involved in the Inquiry. Leila Benyounes was presented by Sophie with a new parchment for her red bag, in acknowledgement of her work on the Nottingham Inquiry and her continued commitment to achieving the best outcomes for those she represents.

In addition, Georgia Banks was awarded a red bag earlier this year, in June, in recognition of her own invaluable contribution to the Inquiry.

The presentation of a red bag remains a longstanding and respected tradition at the Bar, symbolising appreciation from King’s Counsel for the hard work, skill and dedication of junior barristers and those supporting complex and significant cases. These presentations reflect the exceptional efforts of Amelia, Leila and Georgia in assisting survivors and contributing to the Inquiry’s important work.
