Rebecca specialises in all areas of family law with a particular interest in public and private law children. She completed pupillage in September 2017 under the supervision of Sara Anning.
Rebecca’s undergraduate degree had a particular focus on Family Law and European Human Rights. Whilst studying for the Bar, Rebecca worked as a volunteer for the National Centre for Domestic Violence.
Prior to commencing pupillage Rebecca worked as a member of the Family Justice Young People’s Board (FJYPB), previously the Cafcass Young People’s Board, from 2006 until commencing pupillage in 2016. Rebecca represented the Board on the Vulnerable Witnesses Working Group headed by Hayden J and Russel J. As part of her role on the Board Rebecca worked with HHJ Finnerty and HHJ Hillier to set up pilot schemes in the North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire areas for children and young people to meet with the Judge deciding their case. Rebecca helped to create the FJYPB’s National Charter for Children and Young People and has delivered workshops at the Annual Voice of the Child Conference hosted by the FJYPB.
Rebecca has an interest in promoting access and diversity to the legal professional and to students wishing to study at University.

Public Law: Rebecca undertakes work across all areas of public law proceedings and has acted for Local Authorities, parents and children. Rebecca has experience in both multi day final hearings and last minute urgent applications.
Private Law: Rebecca has experience of representing parents and children in a range of private law applications at all stages of proceedings. Rebecca also has experience of Family Law Act proceedings for non-molestation orders and occupation orders.
Ancillary Relief: Rebecca was exposed to a range of financial proceedings throughout her pupillage and intends to expand her practice in this area.
Court of Protection: Rebecca has a keen interest in this work and intends to expand her practice in this area.
