Alex Taylor acts in important case related to the 2002 Adoption and Children Act

Interpreting the 2002 Adoption and Children Act, the ruling makes it easier for individuals to apply for adoption orders with respect to a child born after the relationship between the applicant and birth mother had ended. Mr Justice Cobb, in agreement with the submissions of Alex Taylor who acted on behalf of the adoption agency, found that the applicant and birth mother were still a “couple” in an “enduring family relationship” even in the absence of intimacy or cohabitation.
