Mother cleared of culpability for extremely unusual head injuries

Re B [2013] EWCC B9 (Fam)

Mr Maxwell-Stewart acted for the mother in Re B [2013] EW Misc 24 (CC). This case concerned a young boy who developed bilateral frontal scalp haematomas that the mother alone was alleged to have caused.  He also suffered immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) following immunisations shortly before the haematomas developed.

Following a fully contested finding of fact hearing the mother was exonerated as having caused the injuries.
