Sophie has an extensive Inquest and Inquiry practice.
Sophie regularly appears at Inquest to represent Families, Local Authorities, Companies, Care and Nursing Homes, NHS Trusts and Entities, Prisons, Fire and Rescue Services, CQC, Transport Providers and Ambulance Services.
In particular Sophie has acted in many complex Article 2 inquests and also regularly acts as Counsel to the Inquest. Sophie appeared as Counsel to the Inquiry in respect of the Manchester Arena Inquiry. Sophie has been appointed as one of the Silks to act as Counsel to the UK Covid-19 Inquiry chaired by The Right Honourable Baroness Heather Hallett DBE. Sophie is Counsel to the Andrew Malkinson Inquiry and the Jalal Uddin Inquiry. Sophie was Counsel to the Anthony Grainger Public Inquiry.
Sophie’s practice also encompasses work in the areas of Judicial Review, Health and Social Care Regulation and in the Court of Protection.
