Andrew Venables to serve as judicial assistant in the Court of Appeal

Chambers is delighted to announce that Andrew Venables will spend the Easter and Trinity terms as a judicial assistant in the Court of Appeal. Andrew follows in the footsteps of his former pupil supervisor, Alex Taylor, in being accepted onto this prestigious programme.

Judicial assistants spend four months working closely with one particular judge and are responsible for researching points of law, clarifying issues and re-shaping the less well-presented appeals. Andrew is provisionally to serve as the assistant to Lady Justice Black.

Andrew will be away from 14 April to 1 August. Parklane Plowden will be organising a series of talks on the issue of what appeals to the Court of Appeal in the autumn after Andrew returns.
