She been instructed as Junior Counsel in cases involving:
• Delay in diagnosis of a rare metabolic disorder resulting in severe brain damage (settled – £23.7 million)
• Complex brain injury arising out of negligent treatment at a psychiatric hospital (settled – £1.5 million)
• Delay in diagnosis of cauda equina syndrome (settled – £1 million)
Jade also maintains a broad personal injury practice and regularly attends trials and advises on paper in cases involving employer’s liability, public liability, RTAs, fatal accidents and CICA appeals.
Her inquest work involves acting for a variety of interested parties including families, NHS Trusts, GPs, Local Authorities and Care Homes, on Article 2 and non-Article 2 inquests.
In the Court of Protection, Jade is instructed on behalf of P, local authorities and ICBs in Section 16 and Section 21A cases, including proceedings in the High Court involving mental capacity and inherent jurisdiction issues.
Jade also has experience in relation to capacity to manage property and affairs issues, applications to discharge the lasting power of attorney and deputyship applications.
Jade finds that her areas of work often overlap, giving her a rounded perspective on the legal, medical and practical issues that arise across these areas and allowing her to provide cohesive, balanced advice on complex issues.

- Failure to adequately secure abdominal mesh during a hernia repair, leading to permanent damage to the colon and chronic pain.

- Delay in diagnosis of meningitis in a child resulting in death.
Jade has extensive experience in a variety of inquests including healthcare-related deaths, RTAs, care home deaths, prison deaths and Article 2 inquests.
She is instructed by a wide range of interested parties including the family, local authorities, NHS bodies, GPs and care homes.

- Representing the family of woman who died as the result of a pulmonary embolism following surgery.
- Representing the family following the death of a man detained under the Mental Health Act (Article 2)
- Representing the family of a woman who died from sepsis following an anastomotic leak.
- Representing the Local Authority following the suicide of a transgender teenager accommodated under Section 20 of the Children Act 1989.
- Representing an NHS Trust following the death of a patient detained under the Mental Health Act (Article 2)
- Representing an NHS Trust where a newborn baby died following a skull fracture and subarachnoid haemorrhage during forceps delivery.
- Representing a care home where a resident died following pressure sores becoming infected.
- Representing a GP practice where the deceased committed suicide.
Jade is routinely instructed on road traffic, employers’ liability, public liability and CICA appeals.
She is regularly instructed on behalf of Claimants and Defendants in equal measure to advise in conference and on paper, draft pleadings, attend interim applications, CCMCs and trials.

- 2-day trial where the Claimant suffered significant injuries following a fall down a manhole.
- CICA appeal where the Claimant suffered a significant brain injury.
- Advising in relation to a secondary victim claim for a child who witnessed the death of their sibling.
- 1-day inquest and assisting with the subsequent fatal claim where the deceased was hit by a drunk driver.
- Advising in conference and on paper where the Claimant suffered spinal injuries and permanent atrial fibrillation following an RTA.
- Advising in conference and on paper where the Claimant suffered a rare swallowing disorder following an RTA
- Successfully defending a multi-Claimant RTA claim where 2 of the Claimants were found to be fundamentally dishonest.
Jade is routinely instructed on behalf of P, local authorities and ICBs in health and welfare matters including deprivation of liberty, welfare decisions, deputyships and removal of the nearest relative.
She has been involved in a number of mental capacity and the inherent jurisdiction cases in the High Court.
Jade regularly acts on behalf of the Public Guardian in relation to property and affairs issues, discharging LPAs and deputyship applications.
