Chloe took up her Tenancy with Parklane Plowden in September 2020 after successfully completing pupillage under the supervision of Louise McCallum. Chloe is regularly instructed in public and private law children work, and in other private law proceedings.
Prior to pupillage Chloe studied Law at Lancaster University, achieving first class honours, including 97.3% in Family Law. At university Chloe was a keen mooter, representing her university both nationally and internationally in competitions including the Willem C. Vis Moot in Vienna. She won the Lancaster University Main Mooting Competition; the finals were held at the Supreme Court and judged by Briggs LJ.
Following her undergraduate degree, Chloe received scholarships from the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple to study the BPTC LLM, where she received a Distinction overall. She achieved Outstanding grades in: Drafting, Opinion Writing, and Mediation. On the course Chloe was a Student Representative for the Inner Temple, helping to arrange Qualifying Sessions on the North Eastern Circuit. Whilst studying, Chloe undertook a variety of Pro Bono work, including taking part in the Yorkshire Tribunal Advocacy Project (YTAP), helping clients with ESA and PIP appeals. She also provided written advice to clients through the Univeristy's Law Clinic.
The summer before commencing pupillage Chloe spent as a Research Assistant working on the latest edition of Munkman and Exall on Damages. She was also chosen by her Inn, the Inner Temple, to attend an international conference in Dubrovnik with the Sir Geoffrey Nice Foundation entitled “Mapping, Documenting and Prosecuting Mass Atrocities”.
Chloe was selected in 2020 to be a Social Mobility Advocate for the Bar Council as part of their #IAmTheBar Campaign. She has a keen interest in promoting diversity and access to the profession. Chloe participates in outreach events for students and career changers interested in a career at the Bar with the Inner Temple and the Bar Council. Chloe is also part of a small advisory working group of her Inn's Education and Training Committee, working on the Inn's formal policy position around suppporting Pupil Barristers when they need to find a new pupillage.
